Research Student
Iman Bayandorian is a PhD student at BCAST.
He obtained his BSc in Materials Science and Engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2003, and his MSc in Materials Science and Engineering (Course of Casting) from SHARIF University of Technology, Tehran, Iran in 2005.
Iman has had 3 years of industrial experience - two years as a Welding Inspector in BINA Consulting Engineers Co. and one year as a Production Engineer in THERMAL CERAMICS Saveh Co., a French-Iranian Joint venture Company.
His previous research experience involved observing the formation of Non-dendritic microstructure in Magnesium Alloys produced by the SIMA process and the characterisation of its rheological and flow-behaviour in Semi-solid state. He has also investigated the Steel coating techniques.
His current research interest is in Mg-alloy selection for superior mechanical and microstructural characteristics for RDC, and this work is carried out under the supervision of Dr Das.
Iman has two publications from his previous research, both published in Persian, these are:
- I.Bayandorian and F.Khomamizadeh ,”Characterization of Rheological and Flow Behaviour of AZ91 Magnesium Alloy in Semi-solid State”, Journal of Iranian Foundrymen’s Society, 2005
- I.Bayandorian and F.Khomamizadeh ,” Formation of non-dendritic Microstructure in AZ91 Magnesium Alloy by SIMA Process”, Journal of Iranian Foundrymen’s Society, 2005
Iman has also received the following 3 awards:
- Ranked First (Top student) among graduated students of MSE (M.Sc.) in SHARIF Univ. of Technology, 2005.
- Ranked First among more than 120 students of MSE in Dept. of Materials Science and Eng. At the end of B.Sc. Period,2003.
- Ranked First in Materials Science and Engineering, Amirkabir Univ. of Technology among more than 300000 participants in the National University entrance exam for undergraduate studies, 1999.
He is a member of Iran Foundry Society (IFS).
