Advanced Bioprocessing Centre
The official opening was honoured by Dr Ito’s Visit, 25th April 2006
![]() Brunel Institute for Bioengineering’s Advanced Bioprocessing Centre (the BIB ABC) was officially opened on 25 April 2006. It has made significant advances towards the goal of becoming an international centre of excellence and has progressed research in a number of purification areas, including instrument technology and the linking of upstream and downstream processes. Some major interactions with industry have been established, resulting in a healthy industrial income for the Centre, and a good working relationship with Dynamic Extractions Ltd has been created.
In summary, the ABC has experienced the best initial year that could be desired, and the aim is now to continue this momentum to build on this initial success.
