Yaling joined HERG in June 2010 as a Research Fellow after completion of her PhD in Health Economics at the University of Sheffield. Yaling’s PhD thesis focused on the methodology of development of condition-specific preference-based measures for use in economic evaluation in health care. Yaling also has an MSc in Health Economics, Social Medicine & Health Management (Fudan University, Shanghai, China) and a BSc in Public Health (Sichuan University, Cengdu, China).
Prior to pursuing her PhD, Yaling was an academic visitor at the Leeds University funded by Chinese Overseas Academic Visitor bursary. She has also been working as a lecturer in China.
Yaling’s research interests relate to the economic evaluation of health care interventions; in particular, measuring, valuing and modelling health outcomes and beyond. Currently Yaling is working on the NICEQoL project with Dr Longworth and colleagues in Sheffield. This project was funded by the MRC as part of the MRC-NIHR Methodology Research programme.
