Zoe Garrett is a part-time PhD student at HERG. She holds an MRes in Health Services Research from University College London, and has a first degree in Speech and Language Therapy from City University, London. She has worked at the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) since 2005 and currently works part-time as a technical adviser supporting the Committee who make decisions about drug reimbursement in the NHS. Prior to her work at NICE she worked as a research officer specialising in systematic review at City University, London and the Institute of Education, London.
Her PhD investigates the cost and quality of life impacts on the informal carers of people with rheumatoid arthritis and methods of including carer outcomes in economic evaluations of health technologies. Her research interests include economic evaluation of health technologies and the use of health economics in health care decision-making.
