Brunel Design Postgraduate Courses

Postgraduate courses in the Brunel Design subject area:

Overview

Brunel Design has an outstanding reputation for research both nationally and internationally. It fosters extensive and positive links with industry and commerce, resulting in programmes at both Masters and research level that are highly relevant to the needs of the business world. The quality of all these activities is reflected in excellent government research and teaching ratings. We view design and engineering as broadly-based and interconnected disciplines, leading to commercially viable solutions backed up by sound technological reasoning and investigation. The interdisciplinarity of this approach extends across subjects as diverse as electrical, electronic and manufacturing engineering, IT and management and there is extensive collaboration between research groups and with other disciplines of the University.

Much of our research and teaching is of an applied nature, often carried out in collaboration and partnership with industrial, educational or government partners. Supervision, both from individual academic staff and through a number of research groups, is available in a wide range of areas, including:

  • Computer Aided Design Research;
  • Cognitive Ergonomics Research;
  • Environmentally Sensitive Design Research;
  • Engineering Design;
  • Design Management Research;
  • Manufacturing Metrology;
  • Manufacturing Systems and Management.
