Information and Social Architectures

The Information Architecture research theme of the HCDI examines design structures and systems which allow the user to understand complex data and interact in a suitable manner.

Among other things, the first strand of research looks at:
  • Virtual worlds for teaching and research
  • Virtual collaborative environments
  • Massive Multiplayer Online Learning Environments (MMOLE)
  • The Tactile User Guidance System (TUGS) and navigation aid.

The second strand of research encompasses:
  • Design of trusted systems and trustworthy computing programs
  • Emerging social technologies, such as social networks, Virtual Worlds and online games
