Brunel's Environmental Commitment
Brunel University is firmly committed to enhancing its environmental management and performance through its strategies, policies, risk management, and procedures. ‘Sustainability’ is one of the core values of the University, and the University’s Strategic Plan 2013 to 2017 obliges the University to provide ‘an enabling environment’ where the campus infrastructure, facilities, and activities are managed, developed and monitored in an environment-responsible and sustainable manner.
The University acknowledges it is responsible for continually improving its environmental performance, preventing pollution and protecting the environment at all levels.This is achieved through our Environmental Management System; our strategies, policies, risk management, procedures, and staff training.
Environmental Management System ISO 14001: 2004
The University succeeded in attaining ISO 14001: 2004 accreditation covering all its activities across campus in 2012, and has retained this status to date. THis system of accreditation provides practical tools to identify and control Brunel’s environmental impact and to constantly improve our environmental performanc and it forms an integral part of Brunel's Environmental Policy and supports its implementation.
