Description:

Brunel has a rich sporting tradition, being named as the best university for sport in London by the Sunday Times, and £13 million is being invested to further develop our success.  An international standard running track and outdoor synthetic pitches were completed in 2004.  An indoor athletics centre and netball arena, supported by £2 million Lottery funding from Sport England, was completed in early 2005.  Many international athletes have studied at Brunel, including Olympic gold medallists James Cracknell (rowing) and Audley Harrison (boxing), and Brunel is supporting the London bid for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
