About Fairtrade

The Fairtrade mark is the only independent consumer guarantee of a better deal for producers in the developing world.

The Fairtrade mark:

  • benefits 7 million workers, producers and their families in the developing world
  • provides a social premium in addition to a guaranteed price to producer communities, which is invested in community projects or improving local businesses
  • guarantees a fair and stable price for producers
  • ensures the protection of the environment
  • supports local farmers, giving them a stronger position in the global market
