Robert Evans was Head of Crane Junior School in Hounslow before he was elected to the European Parliament in 1994. He is Labour's spokesman on education and culture and chairs the group of nine London Labour MEPs. He retains his links with local education as a member of Brunel's Court and Council and as a governor of Raddsfaryn Primary School in Yiewsley. He is a member of the European Parliament's South Asia delegation, charged with developing links with India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. He is very much concerned about animal welfare and campaigns on anti-racist issues.
