Mrs Ruth Fogg
Ruth Fogg was Head of the London Borough of Ealing's Youth Service for 12 years and has been associated with the Centre for Youth Work Studies (CYWS) at Brunel since the late 1970s. Although now retired from Ealing, she has continued her involvement with CYWS and is currently Chair of the Centre's Consortium of Members and coordinator of the Connexions training programme for Personal Advisers. She is also a trained Hypnotherapist and Reiki Practitioner.
Dr Kenneth Hale
Ken Hale joined the then Department of Manufacturing and Engineering Systems (now Systems Engineering) at Brunel in 1986, following 35 years undertaking research at the National Physical Laboratory and its derivative laboratories. He worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the Brunel Centre for Manufacturing Metrology, working on major research programmes including those funded by the EPSRC, until his retirement in 2001.
Mr Barrie McKay
Barrie McKay is currently Assistant Treasury Solicitor and Group Leader at the Treasury Solicitor's Department. Prior to this he worked at HM Customs and Excise Solicitor's Office, where he helped to increase the number of high quality placements for students in the Department of Law. At the Treasury Solicitor's Department, Mr McKay has continued his support for the scheme, with 20 Law students having obtained placements there since his appointment in 1997.
Dr Derek Hope
Derek Hope's service to the University stretches back for more than 40 years to when he was appointed as a Lecturer in Applied Chemistry at Brunel in 1959. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer in Physical Chemistry in 1973. He was closely involved in the establishment of Brunel's Counselling Service in 1971, of which he was Head between 1982 and 1997. He then became Brunel's first Overseas Student Adviser. Since 1995 he has also held part-time lecturing appointments in Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Materials Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.
Mr Robert Dick Nimmo
Dick Nimmo joined Acton College (the precursor to Brunel) in 1959 as a Lecturer in Electrical Engineering. He became Administrative Secretary in 1972 and Bursar in 1979, a post he held until taking early retirement in 1996. He returned to his "home" department, now renamed Electronic and Computer Engineering, with responsibilities for admissions and timetabling as well as part-time lecturing, until July 2001 - a total of 42 years' service.
Dr Graham Norris
Graham Norris is Director of Corporate Environment and Safety Services at Nortel Networks UK Ltd. He has lectured to, and supported students and staff involved with the MSc Occupational Health and Safety Management course, offered within the Department of Health and Social Care for several years. His input to the Master's course is much appreciated by students and staff and he continues to support the Department, in which he is now an Associate Professor.
Mrs Diana Rodrigues
Diana Rodrigues retired in September 2000 after 22 years' service at West London Institute and Brunel. She joined the Institute in 1978 as a Clerical Assistant, gaining promotion to Deputy Examinations Officer and then Leader of the BA/BSc section (which dealt with the administration of the IDS (Integrated Degree Scheme) initiative) within the Academic Registry, in 1989. In 1995, she became Registry Coordinator and subsequently, following the amalgamation between the two institutions, Head of the Modular Scheme office.
