Arthur Langridge - 1972
Arthur Langridge has been General Manager at Westinghouse Brake English Electric Semiconductors Ltd since 1966, having started working for Westinghouse in 1950. Much of the success of the operation of this company has resulted from the interaction of good basic scientific work and the production activities led by Mr Langridge. He has made an outstanding contribution to the UK electrical industry. In the early days of Brunel, Arthur Langridge acted as a member of the Department of Physics Advisory Committee and, since 1968, he has served as an External Examiner to the MTech course in Semiconductor Physics and Technology. He has always been willing to help in the industrial training of students at the BTech, MTech and PhD levels and continues to do so, particularly as a supervisor to external PhD students in his laboratory.
