Create an Icon: turn your recollections of your time at Brunel into a permanent campus feature
In 2016 Brunel will have been a University for 50 years, and we are inviting you to help us create a new campus feature worthy of the Golden Anniversary.
We will celebrate our milestone with a huge range of events highlighting the many successes of our students and staff – past and present - and our role in the local community and the wider world.
As part of this, we plan to unveil the new permanent installation during the Charter Day celebrations on 6 July 2016.
As for what that installation will look like - that’s where YOU come in...
We are inviting students and staff - past and present - to submit ideas for the final piece. It could be a traditional sculpture, a dynamic digital art installation or something completely different. The aim is to create a work that will express the spirit and values of Brunel University London, and become a campus landmark for the next 50 years.
No technical expertise is needed. All we need is an idea. We have designers on campus who can work it up into your original vision.
The competition aims to be as unrestrictive as possible. You could submit a static sculpture, a more immersive proposal or an interactive installation; all we ask is that your design(s) should be fresh, original and clearly connected to Brunel.
The deadline for submissions is Friday 23 October, and the shortlist will be announced in November.
