Liesel Schwarz, a creative writing student at Brunel, secured a fantastic three book deal last year. She says, ‘The Brunel MA in Creative Writing is truly unique because it focuses on developing author voice. It taught me everything I needed to know in order to be a writer. And with this knowledge, I was empowered to step forth into the publishing world in order to achieve the type of publishing contract that dreams are made of. I cannot be more grateful or thankful for that.'
A life-long fan of 19th Century Gothic Literature, she loves Victorians, Steampunk, fairies, fantasy monsters and the Fin de siècle. Her first novel A Conspiracy of Alchemists (DelRey), the first in the Chronicles of Shadow and Light series, will be out in 2013. She lives in London.
