'New Humanities: Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Dynamics of Social Transformation'

The context for this seminar is Brunel’s ongoing AHRC Block Grant Bid, ‘New Humanities: Interdisciplinary Approaches to the Dynamics of Social Transformation’. Within Brunel’s English Subject Group, the BCCW has been consistently involved in innovative Arts and Humanities research concerned with applying academic techniques to real-world problems in an interdisciplinary environment. This seminar series is designed to showcase work in these areas which can be undertaken in an English department and signpost the way to even more interdisciplinary and socially-directed research as we continue to map out models of progressive research and fashion a new humanities fit for the twenty-first century.
