Summary

Richard's research interests are situated within the areas of postcolonial studies, contemporary literature, literary theory and cultural studies. His research engages with the aesthetic qualities of rap music and how these are shaped ethical relations between producers and users in London’s rap scenes. He obtained his PhD from the London School of Economics and was recipient of an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) Doctoral Award scholarship.

Richard teaches courses on postcolonial literature, late twentieth century writing, popular genres and performance poetry.
