Visit by Filmmakers Shamim Sarif and Hanan Kattan
With internationally acclaimed films such as The World Unseen (2007) and I Can’t Think Straight (2008), writer/director Shamim Sarif and producer Hanan Kattan have established a track record of creating feature films that explore the boundaries of love and human relationships across cultural, religious and gender boundaries. Through their company Enlightenment Productions, the duo are renowned for creating works that are driven by strong scripts, striking visuals and even bolder themes.

Shamim and Hanan’s visit will include a screening of their acclaimed alternative rom com I Can’t Think Straight (2009), winner of critic and audience awards at film festivals in Miami, Melbourne, Vancouver, as well as being an official entrant at the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
