My three years at Brunel were fantastic—a truly life-changing experience. Not only did I enjoy my course but I also made some amazing friends. The Film and Television Studies programme offers students the chance to study a wide variety of topics ranging from comedy to Dadaism and from politics to celebrity. In your final year, you can undertake a practice-based dissertation or a written dissertation on a topic that you are really passionate about. You’ll be taught by lecturers who are passionate about their subject and who have published extensively in their field.
The course is a great starting point if you want to pursue a career in the film and television industry. Since graduating, I have been lucky enough to land a position at the BBC as a runner on a drama production called Frankie. If there was one piece of advice I could give students who are planning to study Film and Television Studies at Brunel, it would be to get as much practical work experience as possible so that you can plan your future career and build contacts with people within the industry. Good Luck!
