As a mature student attending Brunel I found that the make up and cohort was really cosmopolitan. I made some great friends from all over the globe and there is a real buzz around the main hub of the university. The living facilities are second to none compared to all the universities I had the chance to visit and the campus is vast with lots to do and explore; central London is only a short trip on various transport links.

The musical composition course is well designed giving students the opportunity to make their own decisions about which modules to take. This was really important for me because I was able to make the right decisions for my future career as a teacher and gain as much of the vital experience I needed to get me onto one of the top teacher training providers in the country. I was even able to attend lectures that weren't part of my chosen course which was hugely beneficial.

The university has an eclectic mix of talented lecturers and musicians which helps to create a really vast experience as a student performer and composer. There are many ensembles run by the School of Arts, with opportunities for students to get involved in any way they choose; students often run their own ensembles so there is a huge amount of choice.

I had the most amazing time at Brunel; whether it was social, educational or professional. Brunel is uniquely situated in close proximity to London which attracts the best teachers and the best students for all the right reasons. It really is a great course and a great university.
