BA Theatre and MA Contemporary Performance Making
BA Theatre is designed for you if you aspire to work in today’s vibrant and diverse theatre industry. You will be taught by expert staff in the purpose built Antonin Artaud Centre. This performance centre sits at the heart of our creative community and houses a fully equipped main theatre and studio theatre as well as rehearsal and recording studios. The programme is highly practice focused and you will learn core skills in theatre-making while at the same time studying historical, theoretical and critical perspectives. The Theatre skills offered are: Acting, Directing, Playwriting, Applied Theatre, Devising and Digital Performance. Our proximity to London allows you to engage with an exciting range of performance practices and venues and a career-focused work placement in your final year builds on the range of professional development activities that are a feature of this programme.
The MA in Contemporary Performance Making is aimed at practising artists and students who wish to engage creatively with live art, digital art, new writing and directing for performance. This well-established programme draws on the excellent resources in the School of Arts and our close proximity to the diverse range of international performance available in London. Our students undertake a work placement as part of their MA studies.
Our Research Centre, the Centre for Contemporary and Digital Performance, runs an annual series of Performance Research Seminars. These events are open to everyone and admission is free. The latest dates can be found on the CCDP pages.
