Global Supply Chain Students visit MINI Factory
To bring the tools and techniques of supply chain and logistics management to life, students on the MSc Global Supply Chain Management embarked on a visit to the MINI production plant in Cowley, Oxford. The MINI plant, now owned by BMW, has a production capacity of approximately 200,000 units per year and is one of the most high-tech plants in Europe with an enviable reputation for quality. Students saw the production process from start to finish and were amazed at the complexity of the production process and the ability to offer MINI customers an astounding degree of colour, trim and other bespoke finishing options.
Course Director, Dr Des Doran, commented βIt was a great opportunity for students on the programme to actually see aspects of their studies brought to life in such an exciting and stimulating way.β
The tour was organised as a part of Business Life: Employability Programme, and forms a part of an extensive calendar of events and workshops provided by the Brunel Business School, designed to boost graduate employability skills.
