MBA Alumni

At Brunel, we believe our Alumni are truly one of our most valuable assets.  They not only represent the School and carry our values and ethos – they are the brand.  We make it a point to introduce our students to the benefits of being an alumnus from the very start of the MBA programme. We invite current students to alumni networking events so that past and current students meet and share experiences.  These meetings and interactions ensure that our students and alumni can call each other for support and assistance.  We have established chapters internationally to ensure our students continue to stay in touch even when they return to their home countries or find themselves working abroad.  We, together with our alumni, host chapter meetings once or twice a year.  We are expanding our coverage of chapters and welcome the opportunity to add to our alumni family.

In 2011/12 we hosted alumni chapter events in the following locations:

  • Mumbai
  • London
  • Shanghai
  • Bangkok
  • Istanbul

Country of Employment

We live and trade in a globalised world. Just the 2011 graduates have ensured that the Brunel MBA is represented in 16 countries. This provides our graduates with a significant head start: they have contacts in these countries, they’ve spent a year together and learnt about cultures and traditions and consequently doing business becomes easier. We are proud to have Brunel MBA ambassadors taking our ethos for success forward.

Employment Sector

The Brunel MBA opens doors to a wide range of sectors. In spite of the turmoil in the financial services sector in just about every country, 20% of our MBAs secured jobs in this lucrative sector. Given Brunel’s strengths in Corporate Brand Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management and Marketing it is not surprising that most of our MBAs entered the FMCG market. The public sector attracted a substantial portion of our MBAs and we are proud of the contribution out graduates make towards improving the lives of citizens. The energy and technology sectors are both growing markets for our MBAs – these two sectors recruit a fifth of our students.

Professional Role

Brunel MBAs have to attain first line management experience in order to join the programme. The vast majority of our graduates, just short of two thirds, have gained senior management positions in the organisations they have joined. This reflects not only the core academic content but also the practical and leadership experience gained through Brunel’s electives or Leadership Master Classes. In addition, our MBAs were able to achieve senior roles in management consultancy, sales and marketing.

Salary Increase

Completing The Brunel MBA delivers where it matters most of all: increasing your income. A survey of our 2011 graduates shows that a quarter of the students achieved a multiplier of 1.5 to 4.5 times their starting pre-MBA salary. That is a significant uplift in earnings over one year which would otherwise take several years of 'promotions' to achieve. Many of our students were able to double their salary which is itself a healthy return over one year. We are very pleased that ALL our MBAs reported an increase in their starting salary.
