Rolls Royce Masterclass

Arnd Kaiser of Rolls Royce UK provided MSc Global Supply Chain Management students with a Masterclass in Lean Production techniques. The presentation dealt with the human resource dimensions associated with the introduction of lean tools and techniques and provided students with insights into the challenges often faced by managers when embarking upon change programmes.

Dr Des Doran, Pathway Leader of the Programme, felt that the students learned a great deal from Arnd – "A number of the students were involved in a Lean Production simulation designed by Arnd which explored the concepts and techniques of Just-In-Time, Kanban and Takt time. It was a very rewarding session which shed light on the need to balance workflow within both the external and internal supply chains."
