Brunel Business School was delighted to stage the inaugural Aviation Supply Chain Hub 'taster' session in January. The Hub is one of the proposed research hubs within the School's Executive Development portfolio.

The evening attracted delegates from a diverse range of organisations from across the aviation world including major airlines, maintenance and repair organisations (MROs), aviation catering companies and the British Airports Authority.

Facilitated by Professor of Operations Management and Director of MBA programmes, Amir Sharif, supported by Prof Ashley Braganza and Ronnie Galloway, delegates considered the issues of aviation sector costs and the tendency of the aviation industry to focus on cost reduction. Delegates also worked in groups to explore their own perceptions of the sector, the outcome of which was to demonstrate just how perspectives of the industry vary within the sector.

All in all, this was a highly successful event which was praised by delegates. The School is now looking forward to working further with the aviation industry.
