Summary
With an academic background in Geography and Communications Policy, Fintan worked in business communications for GKN, Pitman, the European Space Agency (ESA) and the BBC World Service before moving into systems development with Sainsbury’s where he gained extensive experience on the complex needs of large supply chain systems. Moving into HE teaching, he then helped set up electronic business degrees and developed a research focus on technology adoption. Current work includes a WestFocus project (HEIF-funded) on the part ‘Web 2.0’ technologies can play in knowledge transfer and business growth. Recently started working with the School of Arts on an initiative examining the role that theatric devices can play in the knowledge transfer of ostensibly dull material – in this case ‘data security’.
