The first half of Dave's career was with Schlumberger Corporation in the aerospace and petrochemical industries as an electronics and software engineer and a research and development engineering manager. The second half started at Brunel in 1992 and he held the position of Sub-Dean/Faculty Manager in the Faculty of Technology before becoming Manager of the Business School in September 2004. Dave accumulated a number of industrial patents in the aerospace field and was very occasionally allowed by his company to co-publish his research. He was an elected member of the Council of Brunel University from 2005 to 2009 and a member of the university Finance Committee for two years. He has a Physics Degree from Royal Holloway College (University of London) and an MBA from Henley Management College to match the two career halves.
