About Brian

Professor Ralph has had a long and proven relationship with Brunel University since 1987. He was awarded Emeritus Professorship at Brunel University in 1998. He and Professor Fan have worked closely over the last 10 years mentoring students and research fellows at BCAST.

In a career spanning more than 45 years in Metallurgy and Materials Science, Professor Ralph has received numerous honours and awards. He is still actively engaged in research. As an Emeritus Professor, he co-supervises research students, assists with publications and participates in research activities related to microstructural characterisation, using advanced analytical techniques.
