About Eleanor

Eleanor has been at BIB since 1996 working on a range of different projects at the interface of Biology and Engineering. She has spent a number of years developing assistive technology for continence management problems and has granted patents in this field. She has also investigated assistive technology for dementia.  Eleanor has expertise in running large multidisciplinary projects, have coordinated a €2 million EU framework 5 grant and more recently been Principal Investigator on a £1.6 million (full economic cost) New Dynamics of Ageing collaborative research programme grant. She is a member of the British Society for Gerontology where she serves as part of the Generations Review editorial team.  Eleanor is also part of the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) peer review college. Eleanor is an active member of Brunel Institute for Ageing Studies and director of the Assistive Technology and ageing stream.
