The SEIB research group conducts rigorous and impactful research in the interrelated areas of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business. SEIB is presently led by Dr. Cristina Stoian. The group is well balanced between senior, mid-career and early career researchers.
SEIB is a vibrant research group which conducts rigorous and impactful research in the interrelated areas of Strategy, Entrepreneurship and International Business. SEIB offers long-standing expertise in a number of specialised themes. These themes range from entrepreneurial and internationalisation strategies of small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) to inward and outward investment by large enterprises and supra-national governance. The group’s research has been published in leading journals and supported by major funding bodies such as the UK Research Councils and the European Union. SEIB members also serve on editorial boards and review panels of national and international funding bodies. SEIB actively collaborates with researchers and practitioners worldwide. We continuously seek to expand our portfolio of research projects and welcome further collaborations.
SEIB members have been appointed to serve in important external academic and research roles nationally and internationally. David Sarpong is co-Chair of the Strategy Special Interest Group (SIG) of the British Academy of Management. Catherine Wang and Francesco Moscone are Senior Members of the ESRC Peer Review College. Catherine Wang has served as a Scientific Evaluator of a number of international grant panels in the UK, the US, Finland, Portugal, the Netherlands and Kazakhstan. She serves on numerous journal editorial boards including the British Journal of Management, the International Journal of Management Reviews, and the International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research. Aida Hajro is a member of the Editorial Review Board at Academy of Management Review. Christos Pitelis is an editor of the Cambridge Journal of Economics, literary executor of the collected papers of Edith Penrose and at the editorial boards of journals such as Organization Science. Francesco Moscone is Associate Editor of Empirical Economics.
The group’s members are actively engaged in informing practice and policy. Cristina Stoian is member of the International Trade Committee of the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Satwinder Singh has worked as a consultant on World Investment Reports with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Christos Pitelis has consulted for the European Commission, the United Nations, USAID, the Commonwealth Secretariat and business corporations such as WPP and Diageo.
