Co-Innovate at Made in Brunel

Co-Innovate once again held a lunch to celebrate successes and look forward to the new academic year at the Made in Brunel Student Graduation Show.

140 guests heard from Tim Ireland, Managing Director of Orange Amplification, in conversation with Co-Innovate Innovation Director Professor Rob Holdway, regarding their collaboration with Brunel University London students in developing a New Product Line. Tim praised the quality of the designs, thinking and insights the participating students brought to bear on the project, and recommended the scheme to all eligible businesses hungry for innovation. If you would like to learn more or discuss a collaboration now is the time to contact Rob Holdway.

Emerging Entrepreneurs Programme

The Made in Brunel 2018 show saw the launch of the Santander Emerging Entrepreneur Prize. The first of two events designed to help entrepreneurial Brunel graduates with exciting and commercially viable ideas, to make their dreams a reality. The “Ready to Pitch” competition saw 15 applicants pitch 16 ideas to a panel of experts, which included Tim Ireland, Managing Director of Orange Amplifications. The pitch winner, Joshua King, won £1,000 for his innovative device, Ally, designed to help the rehabilitation of  sexual attack victims. In addition to the prize money, Joshua will enrol onto the Co-Innovate Bridging the Gap programme; a structured business innovation programme for new start-ups based in London.

Why Walk When You Could Run

The second Santander competition launching later this summer, “Why Walk When You Could Run?” gives Brunel Graduates a chance to win £10,000 for their new business venture. The competition is open to graduates who apply to Bridging the Gap* or Central Research Laboratory Accelerator Programme* - two business support programmes supported by Brunel University London.  The competition will be judged in September 2018, send in your expression of interest to co-innovate@brunel.ac.uk to find out more.
