Integration of Information Systems into corporate culture
Approach
This research project refers to a large pharmaceutical company undertaking a number of changes to their work practices by facilitating groupware systems. The company’s means of working requires remote and virtual teams operating across wide national, geographic and operational boundaries. The Brunel research considered the various issues relevant in such a complex environment and looked to establish a translation of ‘Structuration theory’ (which embraces these issues), that provided a dynamic and practical series of collaborative solutions for ongoing IS related change.
Outcomes
The company enjoyed significant improvement in efficiencies and communication aligned to the IS being more quickly embedded into the ‘way we do things’ and the culture of the company.
