Dr. Phuong Doan wins Best Research Paper Award

Dr. Phuong Doan received a highly prestigious Best Paper Award (in Quantitative Finance stream) for his research paper of “Project finance investment valuation with mutual risk sharing” at the 2nd Young Finance Scholars’ Conference, held at University of Sussex on 25th and 26th June 2015 (http://www.sussex.ac.uk/bmec/qfin/). This winning paper is part of a series of research papers in project finance investment that he has worked on over the past year. 

The conference was chaired by Professor Carol Alexander, Editor in Chief of the Journal of Banking and Finance (JBF). The Best Paper Award was presented by Dominic Rossie - Global Chief Investment Officer for Equities at Fidelity Worldwide Investment. 

The Young Finance Scholars’ Conference is designed to provide an opportunity for young finance scholars, PhD students and post-doctoral researchers to present their research, discuss and debate their methodologies and model specifications, network with their peers and receive expert comments and advice from leading researchers including editors of top Finance journals as well as top management practitioners from the industry. The senior academics attending have substantial publishing experience and most are editors of influential journals in the field.
