Our experts discuss EU referendum at the Brunel Alumni Weekend
At the Brunel Alumni Weekend on 2-3 July, Justin Fisher and Katja Sarmiento-Mirwaldt discussed the EU referendum results. Fisher began by explaining the demographics and geography of the votes, as well as the difficulties of the pollsters in predicting the results. Sarmiento-Mirwaldt then analysed how UK goals for subsequent negotiations have been evolving and how the EU institutions and other member states have so far responded. They were joined by our colleague from Law Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos, who explained how the EU leaving clause - Article 50 - might work in practice. Presentations were followed by questions from our alumni.
