Students visit the Foreign and Commonwealth Office
On Wednesday 1 March a group of first-year politics and history students went on a field trip to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. The meeting was held in the opulent surroundings of the India Office Council Chamber. In this inspired location the students were able to hear about the work of the FCO's official historians and discuss with one of them the nature of official history, the challenges of producing it and the role it fulfils. This was followed by an amazing tour of this splendid building, incorporating sight of many rarely seen architectural and heritage gems.
