Applicants who are under 18

In accordance with our Admissions Policy, we're happy to welcome students who are over 16 but under 18 to the University. However, where a student is under the age of 18 when they commence their studies, we have to undertake a few additional precautions.

It is important that both you and your parent(s) or guardian appreciate that a university campus presents an ‘adult’ environment. Most students are over 18, and are therefore legally entitled to purchase and to consume alcohol in the Students’ Union bar, as well as public houses in the vicinity. Furthermore, they, as well as university staff, will treat you as an adult, and may assume that you are entitled to use such facilities. Please note that applicants to MBBS Medicine must be over the age of 18 by course start date.

If you will be under the age of 18 when you join us, you will need to get your parent(s) or guardian to complete and sign a consent form and return it to the Admissions Office. An email detailing further information about this will be sent in July, to anyone we believe will be under the age of 18 when they commence their studies. Please upload the completed form to your myApplications portal, alternatively, the form can be downloaded below and returned to the Admissions Office by email admissions@brunel.ac.uk.
