Applicants who are Under 18

In accordance with our Admissions Policy, Brunel University is happy to welcome students who are over 16 but under 18 to the University. However, where a student is under the age of 18 when they commence their studies, we have to undertake a few additional precautions.

It is important that both you and your parent(s) or guardian appreciate that a University campus presents an ‘adult’ environment. Most students are over eighteen, and are therefore legally entitled to purchase and to consume alcohol in the bars in the Students’ Union, as well as public houses in the vicinity. Furthermore, they, as well as University staff, will treat you as an adult, and may assume that you are entitled to use such facilities.

If you will be under the age of 18 when you join the University, you will need to get your parent(s) or guardian to complete and sign a consent form and return it to the Admissions Office. An email detailing with further information on this will be sent to anyone we believe will be under the age of 18 when they commence their studies in July. Alternatively, the form can be downloaded below and returned to the Admissions Office by email (admissions@brunel.ac.uk), fax (+44 (0) 1895 269790) or by post using the address at the bottom of the form.
