Curtis Brown Prize
The Curtis Brown Prize, worth £1,500, is awarded annually to a student from the MA programme in Creative Writing: The Novel. The winner is chosen by senior agents at Curtis Brown, the leading literary and talent agency, from amongst those students who achieve an A or A* grade for their dissertation. Curtis Brown may also, at their discretion, make an offer of representation to the winner.
The Walduck Prize for Research Impact
This is a new prize, sponsored initially for one year by Mr Richard Walduck OBE, Head of the Imperial Hotels Group.
Heads of School will be asked to seek nominations from supervisors within their School. Winners will be selected by the same panel that selects the Vice-Chancellor’s Prizes for Doctoral Research, from those nominated on the basis of research excellence evidenced by research papers or their outputs. In this case, the Panel will also be looking for potential for impact arising from the research. This could be economic, but could also be impact in changing thoughts or perceptions, activity, or environment. The award is £500 and will be presented as a University prize at graduation.
