About the Course
- Intellectual property especially at international level is a fast-growing area of law. With the undisputed relevance of intellectual property in innovation and access to knowledge, the demand for structured study of the area has increased. The main factors for such a high demand are: Fast development of new technologies;
- Wide spread use of the Internet and other cross border communications and commercial technologies;
- A comprehensive and complex legislative framework at international level (WTO, WIPO, EU).
Aims
This Master's course is designed for graduates from anywhere in the world who wish to develop a specialist knowledge on intellectual property law and related areas.

Course Content
On the International Intellectual Property Law LLM programme, you take four taught modules running concurrently through the teaching year from October to May.
Students must take the two compulsory modules:
- Fundamentals of Intellectual Property Law
- International Intellectual Property Law
A further two taught modules must also be taken, and these may be chosen from those listed below. You will also write a dissertation on a topic to be agreed with your supervisor.

In addition to the above core modules, an LLM student will have to take 60 credits of taught modules by choosing any of the following optional modules:
Teaching and Learning
The faculty places great emphasis on the creation of a unique learning experience. In addition to attending lectures and preparing coursework and exams, students will enhance their knowledge of intellectual property by participating in the activities of the Intellectual Property, Internet & Media Research Group as well as participating in debating events and reading group sessions. Dedicated skills sessions and assistance scheme is provided for non-English native speakers.

Assessment
For each module you will be assessed twice, first by way of a written essay and then by way of a "seen" or "pre-release" examination, where the question paper is released a short time before the day of the exam. Each assessment is worth 50% of the overall mark.

UK/EU students: £8,000 full-time; £4,000 part-time
International students: £13,500 full-time; £6,750 part-time

Entry Requirements
The normal requirement for admission will be a good undergraduate honours degree (normally a 2:2 or overseas equivalent) in law. The School may consider other applicants based on their qualifications, experience and potential to successfully to undertake and complete the course. Such applications are considered on a case by case basis by the Postgraduate Director.English Language Requirements

- TOEFL Internet test: 92 (R20, L20, S20, W20)
- Pearson: 59 (51 in all subscores)
