Placement Scholarship
The University will provide a fee waiver of £1,000 for the sandwich placement year (the whole tuition fee for that year), for all students who meet the eligibility criteria.

How many: all students who meet the eligibility criteria
For how many years: 1-year - placement year only. [This will be year 3 for students on thick and thin sandwich courses and year 4 for students on MEng, MMath or MFinMath sandwich courses.]

Eligibility (Eligibility criteria are reviewed annually)
To be eligible for a Placement scholarship, a student must:
- meet at least one of the following under-represented criteria;
- be a care leaver
- come from a low participation neighbourhood
- be a mature student aged 21 or above at the start of their course
- have an assessed household income of £25,000 or less
- have attended a maintained school or college in one of the six London Boroughs with whom the University operates Widening Participation Partnerships: Brent, Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham, Harrow, Hillingdon and Hounslow
- have a disability (including dyslexia)
- come from a low socio-economic background
- parents do not have a higher education qualification
- be registered on a sandwich course;
- have started an undergraduate programme since September 2012 and paying the higher tuition fees ie £9,000.
An additional placement bursary may be available for students from under-represented groups who undertake an unpaid placement during their sandwich year and who receive no paid expenses.
