Placement Scholarship
Value: fee waiver of £1,000 for sandwich placement year. (This covers the whole tuition fee for that year.)
How many: all students who meet the eligibility criteria
For how many years: 1 year - placement year only. (This will be year 3 for students on thick and thin sandwich courses and year 4 for students on MEng, MMath or MFinMath sandwich courses.)
Eligibility: The placement year fee will be waived for all those students who meet the following eligibility criteria:
- must meet at least one of the following under-represented* criteria:
- be a care leaver
- be from a low participation neighbourhood
- be a mature student (21 or over at the start of their course)
- have an assessed household income of £25,000 or less
- attended a Brunel widening participation partnership school
- have a disability (including dyslexia)
- be from a low-socio economic background
- have parents who have no higher education qualifications - must be registered on a sandwich course
*under-represented, as in Brunel University’s population
Confirmation of receipt of a placement scholarship fee waiver will be made in early September of the third year of a thick or thin sandwich course or the fourth year of a sandwich MEng, MMath or MFinMath course.
