Postgraduate Taught Courses
Postgraduate taught courses are one year courses such as MA and MSc qualifications. They usually run for one full year. For entry to Postgraduate courses at Brunel you will usually have to hold a good first degree from a UK or recognised international University. Other relevant qualifications such as extensive relevant work experience or professional qualifications will be considered on an individual basis. If you are interested in research degrees at Brunel, such as a PhD, please see our research pages.
Before you apply
Before applying to Brunel, you should check that:
- You have read and met the admissions criteria for the course you wish to apply for. If you have narrowly failed to meet these then there are a range of Pre-masters courses available.
- You have checked whether the course you are applying for requires ATAS clearance. (You do not need to apply for this yet, but it is worth checking beforehand as this will add 20 working day onto the application process).
- You have included all the relevant documents (see below)

When to apply
There is no absolute deadline for applying for a postgraduate course, however we recommend that you apply as soon as possible as popular courses often fill up early. It can also take several months to get a student visa. We recommend that you aim to apply no later than the end of April.
How to apply
You can apply for any postgraduate course online through the Brunel Website. You can also apply through one of our global representatives. We recommend that wherever possible you apply online, as this is the fastest method, and also allows you to track your application through the 'My application' system. Read more about the online application system.
If you are unable to apply online then you can also download the international application form, and either email or post it to us. The application form has adobe typewriter enabled, which will allow you to type directly into it.
Where possible we always advise you to apply online, which is a quicker and more reliable method of applying. If you are unable to do this you can download and fill out the form below, and then either post or scan and email it back to us. You can pick up a paper copy of this form from one of the Educational Fairs we attend, or from one of our representatives in your country.
