A new Royal Barge 'Gloriana' was built for the pageant on the River Thames

Staff and students celebrated the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee last weekend. The four day celebrations saw a flotilla of ships sailing down the Thames, a concert at Buckingham palace featuring artists old and new and a procession and celebration of thanksgiving at St Pauls. International students were able to experience the celebrations all around the country, with hundreds of street parties being held. With the 2012 Olympics only a few months away, International students at Brunel are in the ideal location to enjoy these historic events during their studies.
