Accommodation at Brunel has been ranked 3rd best in London and top 20 in the UK in the Times Higher Education Student Experience Survey 2017. If you confirm your offer to study with us and apply for a room on campus by 31 August, we'll guarantee you accommodation.

Undergraduate entry requirements

We welcome applications from students taking or who hold the following:

  • A Level examinations
  • International Baccalaureate (IB)

Students with a High School Diploma along with SATs or two Advanced Placements (APs) in related subjects will be considered. As a guideline, we require a GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 (or above) in the High School Diploma; 600 in each SAT subject; Grade 4 (or above) in APs but exact requirements will depend on the programme you are applying for.

Students who have completed first year at a recognised university or received an Associate Degree from a 2 year Junior/Vocational College in a related subject will be considered. As a guideline, we require a GPA of 3.0/4 (or above) but exact requirements will depend on the programme you are applying for.

Official scores from all test dates can be sent to us directly from the College Board.

Undergraduate foundation programmes with London Brunel International College

If you do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry to our Bachelor’s degree programme at Brunel University London, we will assess your eligibility for a relevant undergraduate pathway programme with London Brunel International College where applicable.

We offer Foundation and International Year 1 programmes in:

  • Business and Management
  • Economics and Finance
  • Engineering (foundation only)
  • IT
  • Law

Postgraduate entry requirements

We welcome applications from students who are currently taking or hold a Bachelor's degree with good grades. For certain programmes, work experience and/or specific academic background will be required.

As a guideline and depending on the programme you apply for, we require the following grades from a recognised American institution:

  • A UK 2:1 (Second Class Upper) which equates to a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above
  • A UK 2:2 (Second Class Lower) which equates to a minimum GPA of 2.8/4.0 or above

Pre-masters programmes with London Brunel International College

If you do not meet the entry requirements for direct entry to our Master’s degree programmes, we will assess your eligibility for a relevant Pre-Masters programme with the London Brunel International College where applicable.

We offer Pre-Masters programmes in:

  • Arts
  • Business and Management
  • Design
  • Engineering
  • Environmental Science (Sustainability)
  • Business Computing/Computer Science
  • Law

English language requirements

In general, our courses ask for an English level of between IELTS 6.0 and 7.0 or equivalent. Some courses will have higher requirements (and will require you to also reach minimum sub-scores), so please check your course page for the exact level.

We accept English qualifications from these Exam boards.

If you need support with English before or during your degree programme, Brunel Language Centre offers a range of English courses to suit your level of English. Brunel Language Centre is accredited by the British Council and is ranked in the top 3 university language centres in the UK.

We would also consider the following qualifications as proof of English language abilities:

  • High School Diplmia Grade A-C or 75%+
  • SAT 600 in English subjects
  • GED 600 in English subjects (with no score less than 410)
  • AP English Grade 3 or above

Scholarships

Brunel International Excellence Scholarships
  • £3,000 tuition fee waiver for year 1 only
  • 50 available for September 2017
  • Available to all Undergraduate and Postgraduate international applicants
  • Deadline to apply: 31 May 2017 (11:59pm GMT)
Postgraduate Academic Excellence Scholarships
  • 15% off tuition fees for any student who has achieved a first class undergraduate degree from a UK University (in the UK or abroad) or the equivalent of a UK first class degree from an EU institution
