Missing Module Sections

Access to module sections is provided based on the modules you are registered for at the University, and not all modules will have a u-Link section. We are not able to manually provide access to modules not on your record.

On this page:

Using eVision to check your Module Selections

Your module selections as held on the University record can be checked using eVision - to do this:
  1. Go to eVision (https://evision.brunel.ac.uk/) (opens in a new window)
  2. Login using your eVision login details
  3. Choose myCourse from the left hand menu
  4. Choose Module Selections from the right-hand side

This list shows the modules you are currently registered for. If they use u-Link you should have access to them after 24 hours. If any modules are missing, see: Have you selected your modules yet?.

For support with your module selections, please contact:
eVision Support, email: eVisionPortal-Support@brunel.ac.uk

Modules listed in eVision but not in u-Link

If you have checked eVision and are registered for a module that does not appear in u-Link:
  • Wait 24 hours after seeing the module in eVision - u-Link is updated nightly during week days
  • Perhaps the module doesn't use u-Link - see below:

Not all modules use u-Link at all.

Re-takes, Re-assessments and modules started before the current year

If you are re-taking a module, in particular if this occurs after the academic year in which you started it, you will continue to have access to the original module section in u-Link. Your School may choose to give you access to the module section for the current academic year - but this does not happen automatically.

Similarly, if you were registered on a module for a year prior to the current academic year, but are yet to complete the module, you will also have access to just the previous year's module section.

This section is not available yet

The Section has not been set up with any content yet. In a very small number of Postgraduate Modules, the Module Leader may not be using u-Link. All Students on this module will be in the same position, so don't panic. Please speak with the Module Leader or the School Administration / Taught Programmes Office and inform them of the issue.

Your School Administration/Taught Programmes Office: Normally in your main School building

You have been denied access

'Your access to this course has been denied. Contact your Section Instructor for help.'

This normally happens because you have completed your study at Brunel, or because you were previously registered on the module, but are no longer.

If you believe this to be in error, please contact your School for assistance.

If this happens because you have changed modules, the module may be removed in due course. However, you can hide it now by following the instructions in Hiding and Revealing sections.

For further advice please contact your:
Your School Administration/Taught Programmes Office: Normally in your main School building
