Human Rights Film Series continues with the screening of ‘The Battle of Algiers’

THE BATTLE OF ALGIERS(1965) is an Oscar nominated film directed by Gillo Pontecorvo. The film recounts several occurrences during the Algerian Revolution against the French colonial occupation, including the French Army’s torture methods. Banned in France for several years, the film retriggered controversy after the Pentagon organized a screening in 2003.

Human Rights Film Series continues with the screening of 'Rabbit-Proof Fence'

Rabbit-Proof Fence (2002) is an Australian chase-film directed by Phillip Noyce. Based on a true story of two aborigine girls who are taken away from their families, the film explores the issue of 'Stolen Generation' of children belonging to indigenous minorities.
