Doctoral Seminar:Irish Centre for Human Rights
Prejal Shah presented her research at the Irish Human Rights Centre at NUI, Galway on the 24th April 2013. It was a seminar hosted especially for PhD researchers, specifically in the Human rights area. Prejal's area of research is Comparative Criminal Justice, mainly Policing in India and England & Wales. One of the chapters pertaining to suspect's rights and the human rights element attached to it was of significance to this seminar. Also present at the seminar were Human rights experts who were providing feedback by way of constructive criticism, which provides guidance to PhD students to improve their research. Prejal was helped and guided by her supervisor Dr D Giannoulopoulos for the preparation and thanked him for his valuable input. Prejal's presentation was appreciated with suggestions to amend a few areas. This was most helpful as PhD students sometimes have the fear of uncertainty and an outsider's perspective can throw some light on unchartered territories. Prejal would like to encourage her fellow PhD researchers to attend and present such seminars. Prejal would also like to thank Brunel Law School for providing her with this opportunity.
