Internal Mooting: Beginners Semi-Finals (leading to Supreme Court Finals)

This moot will determine the two teams from the 'beginners' competition that will compete in the finals at the Supreme Court on February 26. Mr Alastair Hodge, Barrister at 5 Essex Court and Senior Advocacy Trainer for Inner Temple, will act as a judge for this moot.

Referencing and Avoiding Plagiarism

This workshop will look at what plagiarism means and how to reference correctly to avoid it. We’ll focus mainly on Harvard referencing but information on other referencing styles will be available.

February 7, 1-2.30,we will screen an episode of the American series “24”, followed by reflection on readings advocating for and against the use of torture in ‘ticking bomb’ situations. Dr Dimitrios Giannoulopoulos will be introducing the readings.
'A Walk to Beautiful' Human Rights Film

'A Walk to Beautiful' is an award-winning documentary on the state of women in Ethiopia. Childbirth injuries and lack of healthcare services leave women ostracised in the society. The film tells the moving story of five women. It is kindly presented by Deborah Chay.

Lilya 4-Ever Human Rights Film

The film tells a story of human trafficking. Lilya is a 16 year old girl who is left behind by her family in Estonia. She falls in love with a young man promising her a new life in Sweden.
'Silent Waters' Human Rights Films
Presentation, LC 066
Set in the end of 1970s the film tells a story of the influence of political events on the lives of ordinary citizens. Ayesha, a widow, watches her son being swept away in the wave of political radicalisation, which also brings back her memories of the partition of India.
