Law LLB students have the opportunity to take part in a work placement, giving first-hand professional legal experience.
The Brunel Law School works closely with a dedicated placement tutor from the Professional Development Centre to facilitate opportunities for our students. Every placement student is also appointed an academic tutor from within the school to provide support, guidance and mentoring.
On your placement, you will gain valuable experience and come to appreciate and understand the dynamics of a challenging legal environment. Gaining exposure to court work, negotiations and legal drafting while working with clients is great real world preparation for entering the workplace. Our students have enjoyed placements in governmental departments, private practices, court and prosecution services, and in-house legal service.
Placements in legal environments strengthen your career prospects and give you the chance to try different types of law work, helping you to decide which specific area you would like to specialise in.
