Laptop loans

The Library has 36 laptops that are available for 4 hour loan during the Library opening hours. Please refer to Library opening hours for full details.

Laptop loans are subject to Terms and Conditions as well as University policies concerning technology.

The laptops are issued from the self-service cabinet in the Library next to the Tech Zone. You need your student ID card to borrow a laptop. We strongly recommend you add a PIN to your ID card to prevent unauthorised borrowing. This can be done via your Library account

The scheme allows students to borrow laptops that act in a similar way to the networked PCs; you can connect to the University’s wireless network in order to access your H: drive, the internet and the self-service printers. You can use the laptops anywhere – you are not restricted to the Library – but please note, exceeding the loan period will incur fines of £5 per hour or part thereof.  More information about fines and charges can be found in our LibGuide, Using the Library: Fines and Charges and the Library Rules

Wi-Fi Delay

Please note - There can be a 10 minute connection delay until Wi-Fi reconnects if you take them out of the Library while connected to the Library Wi-Fi.
