Scientists at Brunel University London who perfected the first ever grain refiner master alloy for magnesium-aluminium alloys have been honoured.
BCAST Director Professor Zhongyun Fan has successfully applied for a further £10m of EPSRC funding to develop the Future Liquid Metal Engineering Hub (The Future LiME Hub). Funding for this £60m initiative will comprise £5m from participating universities and £45m from the public sector in addition to the EPSRC award.

The international EXPO exhibition, based in Milan (Italy) and started in May 2015, launched the 'Feeding Knowledge' project with the scope to gather and select the Best Sustainable Development Practices (BSDP) to be implemented in different sectors of the food feeding chain.
In the week, from 6 to 11 July 2015, some of the BSDP had been selected and presented at the EXPO conference centre. Among a total of 786 best development practices admitted to this exhibition, the project titled 'Designing Food Safety Through Maintenance Engineering' by Dr Sauro Riccetti, with Brunel University named as a partner had been selected for an oral presentation.
